November 23 Thanksgiving Thursday

This has been such a restorative month for my soul. I am pouring out thanksgiving, praise and rejoicing for:
family in all of its forms
technology and how fast we get information
healthy family and self
abundant physical provision
deep and complete work of the Spirit
God’s promises that will never fail
strength for each new day
grace present in the people i meet
books, books, books and the gift of reading
friends who trust me
the grace giftings of the Spirit
rich, instrumental music
cool, crisp air that invigorates
imagination and hope

A prayer from Psalm 16
Father, You are my Lord, and I have nothing good apart from you. Preserve me, for in You I take refuge by placing my trust in You. As for the saints around me, they are the excellent ones in whom You delight. The sorrows of those who run after other gods shall multiply, and yet I will not pour out drink offerings to them or take their names on my lips. You, God, are my chosen inheritance and my cup, You hold my whole life. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; certainly I have a beautiful inheritance. I bless You, Who gives me counsel; in the night my heart also instructs me. I have set You always before me and because You are at my right hand, I shall not be moved. My heart is glad and my glory rejoices and my body rests in hope. You will not abandon my soul or let Your Holy One see corruption. You show me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Amen.
