Magical cookie bars

This dessert transports me right back into my childhood kitchen. In my mind, we had these all the time, but looking back, I think they just made a lasting impression upon me. My kids ask for them now, and I resist the urge to follow the modern recipes. The key to making it taste like I remember is topping it all with the sweetened condensed milk. Allow that syrupy goodness to melt its way through the whole dish.

Start with lightly greasing a 9×13 pan. Then crush up some graham crackers and mix with melted butter. Firmly press into the bottom of the prepared pan.

Next layer is dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips. Add the shredded coconut and then the pecans.

Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk on top, and place in the oven to bake.

If you decide to make this pan of delicious goodness, will you be so kind to leave a rating? Thanks so much!
