Life is a gift

There is an sweet and gritty backstory to this song, but you don’t have to know it to understand the truth in this song. Life, while temporary, is where we are, and a beautiful gift from our Father. While there are times I close my eyes and wish myself away from some of the circumstances and problems I am walking through, I realize that my ‘wish’ is contrary to the honest hope I’ve been given in Christ. I think of Him walking this earth and all that He experienced, and more, all that He chose to take upon Himself to the cross. He wanted to save us, yes, and He also wanted to grant us His life in order that we finish the race set before us. Hallelujah, He finished well, and so will we. Life certainly is a gift.

Precious reader, are you carrying shame? Our Savior died to make you free from that burden. I have found the more willing I am to be identified with Jesus in His life and death, the easier it is for Him to teach me. There is a desire for humility in many Christians, but we resist…
